Longmont Farmers' Market Bike Valet - Begins THIS SATURDAY! May 5th!

Come down to the Farmers' Market on Saturdays from 8AM - 1PM and have us watch your bikes for free while you take a look at the local farm stands and local vendors. Located at the north end of the Boulder County Fairgrounds, off Boston Ave, just East of Hover. We park more than 150 bikes a day and can take your questions on everything bikes and biking, from Aerodynamics to Zipp wheels (especially a lot of really practical stuff in between).
Have questions on how to get there from your house? email us at info@bicyclelongmont.org, and we will help you out with an easy route! A cool tool we often use is Google Maps, now with Longmont Bike Routes. You can try it out HERE. Click on the Bicycle for Directions. Use "Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont, CO" as your destination address.
We are always looking for volunteers for the Farmer's Market Valet & other events. We offer great training and mentoring for the Bike Valet volunteers and you'll have a LOT of fun. 2nd annual G'Knight Ride - June 16, 2012
After
the HUGE success of our first event in 2011, Bicycle Longmont is working
hard to make an even better G'Knight Ride in 2012. Come join us for our annual celebration / fundraiser to help support cycling programs!
The
G'Knight Ride is a celebration of cycling, and is meant for cyclists of
all ages, sizes, and abilities. The Ride is a great excuse to dust off
that old 10-speed, mountain bike, or cruiser and hop on with 1,500+
other riders on a great evening tour. Events include a kids' festival, three ride routes (1, 3,
and 10+ miles), an Expo pavilion, food from great food trucks and
Prospect New Town restaurants, music including headliners The Samples,
and a beer garden brought to you by Oskar Blues Brewery.
We will be posting updates and incredible new features to
this year's event, so be sure to come back often or follow us on facebook or twitter as it develops!
Registrations are now open at a special rate
($14/individual and $30/family). This pricing is good only until May
20th. Day of G'Knight Ride pricing is $20/individual and $45/family. Also, our
super awesome sponsors have a lot committed to the swag bags this year,
including custom Polar Bottles and Nite Ize lights. The goodies in the
bags alone are worth more than what we charge for the event! These
supplies are limited though and we will run out, so register today!

Bicycle Longmont's Buzz Feldman - a 7News Everyday Hero
Hundreds of Bikes donated to Children Who Can't Afford One
- Volunteer Fixes up Bikes to Give to Children
February 21, 2011
LONGMONT, Colo. -- Kids are always looking for a bit a freedom from mom and dad. Bicycles can provide that independence. For families in Longmont who cannot quite afford a bike Buzz Feldman and an army of volunteers come to the rescue. Feldman
owned High Gear Cyclery in Longmont for years. Back in 1988 he got an
idea to help families who could not afford a bike at Christmas time.
"I started asking people if they could donate bikes and it just mushroomed from there," said Feldman. Did it ever! Last Christmas at the Longmont Bicycle Giveaway 439 bikes and helmets were given to children. "Looking at the expressions on the youngsters faces as they pick up the bikes, that is the payoff," said Feldman.
