[BikeLongmont] [Fwd: crossing the diagonal @ 95th]

Lauren sent me the update abut 95th/Diagonal intersection a few days ago. You can

Per our disucssion last week, there is NO pedestrian access from S to N (or
N to S) of Ken Pratt Blvd. at Hover/95th.  There are no crosswalks nor any
walk push button signs.  This is what Mary Ann, the epdestrian who wrote
about access to the shopping/restuatrant areas was referring to.     The
only one (walk signal) that is there goes from the island on the NE corner
(near 1st Bank) West to the island at the NW corner.  From the islands,
there are no crosswalks or SAFE opportunities to cross, esepcially when you
consider where motorists are looking as they are presumably trying to merge
with fast moving traffic coming from the left!  What can we recommend???

BTW - has anyone heard anything about the cyclist that was hit on Firday
near 5th and Gay, just one day after a runner was hit (by a teacher) at 4th
& BRoss at 7:15 am???
