Some people are talking about building a velodrome in Boulder.

Boulder County Land Use officials have already said they probably won't 
allow development at the proposed location. I think they should bring it 
to Longmont and plop the velo somewhere along Ken Pratt east of Main :-) 
... right next to the kayak park would be perfect.

Seriously, the Longmont Chamber should contact the velodrome investors 
and prepare the way for when the County Commissioners turn them down 
cold. Longmont provides easier access to more Front Range residents and 
there's land available. The Longmont Chamber has been playing with the 
idea of making Longmont a tourist destination: a velo would certainly 
help in that respect. Imagine what a velodrome in Longmont would do for 
the local bike shops here in town. Cha-ching!
