This one is mainly for Len, Ben, Phil, etc.
(but note that there is an Advocate Level member option now as well if
others are interested)
I'd like to encourage you to join APBP - the national Association of
Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals.
However, realizing that the City is on a pretty tight budget these days, I
am also wondering if BikeLongmont members might be interested in
contributing funds to pay for the $95 membership fee for the first year to
show our commitment to enhancing bicycling (and walking) in our community??
(FYI - One of the biggest benefits I get from the organization is
participation on the e-mail listserve whereby I'm connected with all of the
other leading professionals dealing with these same types of issues on a
daily basis. But a word of warning -- the group generates a lot of e-mail
every day, so much so that I can't always keep on top of it. Thus it might
be good to get one person to join who has the time to distill the topics
that are most applicable to Longmont.)
