Spoke with Dan Grunig yesterday re: various things, and he encouraged me to visit www.thunderheadalliance.org. Not sure if any of you have been there, but they are a national organization working with local and state and bicycle advocacy groups to assist others in accomplishing their mission of making their communities more bicycle friendly for all! Good stuff, and he encouraged us to join, but also to try to get a rep to their annual meeting in early Sept. in Victoria, BC. Lots of grass roots orgs., doing similar things that we're doing, along with the "pros" that have established organizations and can assist with various aspects of improving cycling. Let's talk more about joining this group and our status and abillity to raise funds, etc. at the July meeting.

I have tentatively set up two Bike Ed (These are League of American Bicyclists Effective Cycling) classes, one for beginner adults, one for Kids I (ages 6-9). Still working on some of the logistics, but hope to have all of that figured out by this afternoon, esepcially as I really want to promote these tomorrow at the Farmer's Market. Dates will be as follows, location is tentative, and price is TBD. Will get this out to everyone ASAP. Thanks for your help in promoting. Hoping to get some dates scheduled soon for the later part of summer as well, in case these Jul;y ones don't fly.

KIDS I Tues., July 6 12-3:30 & Thurs., July 8 12-3:30

Bike 101 for adultsTues., July 13 5-8:00 pm

Farmer's Market - I'm hopeful . . . but honestly don't see much point if it continues to be crappy out. Isn't three days enough?
Thanks to everyone who has helped out with this effort - Buzz, Len, Richard, Kathy, etc. . . .
