[BikeLongmont] meeting tomorrow

Hi,

The May meeting of Bicycle Longmont is tomorrow, Wed, May 12, at 7PM in
the Longmont Library.

It's been an eventful month. Longmont received Bicycle Friendly
Community - Bronze Award, which is the great recognition of all the
efforts made in the past several years. Great job!

Thanks to efforts of Buzz and the pooled resources of the three city
bike shops, the Bicycle Longmont T-shirts have been made. Take a look at
our home page at http://www.bicyclelongmont.org, there's a picture. You
can get the T-Shirt at any of the shops. If memory serves,  I got one
for around $10.

The time has come for me to admit I need help - I am having a pretty
hectic time at work and can't devote as much time to the group as I'd
like. I am asking for a volunteer or two to help me with the legislative
project. To remind everyone, we plan to send a short questionnaire to
candidates in primaries (and later the general election) and post the
answers on our website. The goal is to present, without editorial
comments, the candidate positions and views on biking. We are a
non-partisan organization, so we are not endorsing anyone, just
providing data.

We did a great deal of work earlier this year and have some good
questions. I can send out emails and post the results, but I need
someone to gather the list of candidates and get their email addresses.
The idea is to cover all the races that impact Longmont and immediate
surroundings.

If you'd like to help, drop me email or come to the meeting tomorrow and
we can talk about it.
