Richard,
Thanks for highlighting this issue. I intend to ask Nenad if it is
possible to part of the June agenda to describe the Multi-Modal
Transportation Plan process and ask for a representative from the Bicycle
Longmont group to be part of the Steering Committee for the Multi-Modal
Transportation Plan. The Committee would meet approximately three times
from August to December of this year and would help guide and finalize the
Plan process. The group representative must be agreed to by Bicycle
Longmont and be formally approved by the City Council, with all of the
nominees, to be part of the Steering Committee. This Bicycle Longmont
representative would be in addition to the two citizen representatives we
are recruiting through the newspaper and website. Please note that any
Longmont resident may apply for the citizen positions described in your
e-mail, but that the deadline for those applications is tomorrow (May 28th)
at 5:00pm to the City Clerk's office. I would like to present more of the
details for the Bicycle Longmont representative at the June meeting.
Thanks again for providing the segue for this information,

PM Transportation Plan Steering
Committee
I just saw this on the Longmont vacancies page:
MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION PLAN STEERING COMMITTEE
Two (2) terms ending with completion of the project (expected in April
2005)
Please submit letter of application with standard City application.
I don't know what it is, but I would guess it's related to this issue in
which the city council decided at their retreat to develop a multi-modal
transportation plan and integrate it into the LACP. I would also guess it
has to do with the FasTracks issue that will probably be on the ballot this
November and the great interest that our elected officials have shown in
getting FasTracks to Longmont.
