Given all the focus lately about traffic circles and roundabouts, I
figure there might be some interest about this conference sponsored by
the Transportation Research Board. I figure the city can afford to
send one or two city engineers to Vail for half a week :-) $295
registration + $100/night hotel.
One of the workshops is "Bicycles at Roundabouts: State of the Practice."

"...this conference will provide a forum for the exchange of technical
and administrative information concerning all aspects of roundabouts.
The purpose of this conference is to fully inform a large audience
about the science and application of roundabouts. This national
conference on roundabouts is for all private and public interests. The
use of roundabouts as an alternative to stop or signal-controlled
intersections is swiftly advancing in the United States."
