[BikeLongmont] teaching our kids to drive well

I commuted this morning down 9th Avenue because I had to stop by the
ATM. Without even looking, the driver of a little red car zips out of
the parking lot immediately in front of me onto 9th AND... the car has
a sign on top saying "CARNAHAN DRIVING SCHOOL. 623-0000" *sigh*

Okay, so he stops at the light at Main Street and I pull up behind
him. Light turns green, Mr. Drivers Ed is looking at an appointment
book or something. I just pull around and pass him, signalling and
moving left to make a left turn onto Coffman. In my mirror I see that
Mr. Ed is also merging left WITHOUT USING HIS TURN SIGNAL and he turns
left behind me. What a bozo.

The light is red at Longs Peak Ave so I stop behind the car in front
of me. Mr Ed pulls up next to me on Coffman AND HE'S NOT LOOKING WHERE
HE'S GOING but rather he's got his head down still flipping through
his appointment book as he STEERS WITH HIS KNEES.

I can just feel that Mr Ed will try to pull in front of me and hook
me, even though I left plenty of room to my right for him to go that
way. The light turns green and I hang back because sure enough, Mr. Ed
-- again, without signalling -- makes a right onto Longs Peak from the
far left of the traffic lane.

Ordinarily I don't care so much about this kind of driving, but from
the sign on the car Mr Ed is supposed to be some kind of professional
teaching somebody's sweet little darling how to drive....
