I've always assumed the "Authorized Vehicles Only" sign meant no bikes
anyway.

Yep, the ditch road works okay. There are a couple of low spots that get
muddy. When it's real gunky I've had to carry my road bike across, but it's
usually passable on skinny tires otherwise.
Does anyone know what the plans are for the future of the path along

From what I understand, plans call for this to remain a soft surface path
for now. Somebody with the city can comment more I'm sure. Here's the
developer maps which includes details about their plans for the trail and
adjoining pocket park:

What I'd like to see is a connection from here to the Niwot/Dry Creek
loop. Boulder County Open Space is currently building a path connection
between Niwot and the city of Boulder. Connect Niwot to Longmont via
Lefthand Creek and Dry Creek and the LoBo trail becomes reality.

P.S. Is anybody else going to be at the kid's fishing clinic at Izaak Walton
Pond on Saturday?
