Regarding the Emery Street closure request: I'd advise you all to also
attend the next Transportation Advisory Board meeting but that was last
Monday. Buzz Feldman is on that Board so I hope he addressed this.

The city council representative to the Transportation Advisory Board is
Gabe Santos. He's an "at large" member of the City Council so anybody can
contact him. His email address is gabe at gabesantos.com, his phone number is
(303) 774-1795. Contact your Ward council member also like Peter
suggested.

Of the city council members, you can probably count on support from Karen
Benker, Mary Blue, and Sarah Levinson but it still doesn't hurt let them
know how you feel. I've been gone too long to know how the others would
vote.

In the past, the Longmont Foods security has hassled pedestrians and
cyclists using Emery Street, and they've tried to close it down a couple
of times before.

Show up to the P&Z committee meeting on March 19 to speak about Emery
Street. I believe P&Z member Terri Musser is on this list (and I've Cc'ed
her on this note). P&Z meets in Council Chambers at 7 p.m. It also doesn't
hurt to show up at the next city council meeting even before they vote on
the issue in April and speak out on Emery Street. You only have a couple
of minutes so be succinct and to the point.

This proposal would definitely be a problem as thats exactly the route we
use each time we go to downtown longmont, and not the other routes for
precisely the reasons mentioned below.
